Sadly, a few hours afer being home, I decided to be productive. I wanted to start my baby blocks project for Baby Durb. I went upstairs to change into so yucky clothes because I'm a messy painter. The boys were both outside jumping on the trampoline, so it seemed like a good time to get some crafting done.
On my way back down the stairs... I dunno what happened. I misjudged one of the stairs (I can't exactly see what's at my feet right now) or slipped or something. I had that moment of "oh s***. I'm falling. Grab something". So I attempted to grab the rail, but that didn't happen. But I twisted my body in the process and slid down the stairs on my side. I stood up at the bottom and could only think about my toes, which I'd somehow stubbed in that whole process. Um, ow.
Upon noticing some minor bleeding that could mean bad news for a pregnant lady, I called my doctor. After determining I didn't have any amniotic fluid leaking {am I TMIing yet?} and Baby Durb was moving {a lot. I think he was angry} she put me on 24 hours of bedrest and told me if I was still bleeding in 24 hours, if the bleeding got worse, or if little Durb's kick counts went down to go to the hospital.
Which meant, basically, our Thanksgiving plans were to be... reconfigured.
No going out to Rosser to hang with the family. Nope. We just kinda did nothing. We ate a late breakfast then went to Black Eyed Pea around 2pm. Not exactly the heartwarming holiday you see in movies, but hey, we did what we could.
Needless to say, I'm fine. Everything resolved itself in the 24 hour window and while I was crazy sore the next day, all was well. So that afternoon, my parents came by to drop off some baby gifts and help me take some family pics for our Christmas card.
I was in a less than pleasant mood, being sore and having had to go to Target earlier that day. Yes, on Black Friday. Ugh! That wasn't the plan, but I had to get some clothes for the kids to wear for the pictures. Having boys, most of what they own has holes and stains on it. :/ What decent clothes they DID have, didn't mesh well together. So, a trip out on the evilest of evil shopping days it was. ::sigh::
But, the end result was some cute pictures. SOOO glad my parents came to take the pictures. I just set the settings on my {new} camera and mom snapped away. I took some of the boys, too. Just because they're so darn cute {but NOT cooperative, lol}.
