Certified!

So.much.stuff we had to do today.  Sadly, one of those things was cancelled this morning.  A birthday party we planned on going to was called on account of the birthday girls fever.  :(

But, we STILL had a million things to do and at least the reschedule won't be for the exact same time as Carter's first soccer game.  We'd have had to be late today and that would have been poopy.

But.  Anyhoo.  Carter's first soccer game.  He didn't have his uniform.  It wasn't ready or something.  I'm not sure.  So he had to wear a blue Rangers shirt bought in the facilty shop to look similar to his team mates, lol.  Next game, I'll get some cute shots of him in his uniform.

It's indoor soccer.  He practiced well on Wednesday {I heard via Scott} and warmed up well before the game.  However, once the whistle was blown, Carter didn't paticularly care about anything going on.  For the first half, he pretty much just walked around ignoring the ball completely.  Coach even let him handle the kick off a few times, but after kicking the ball, he checked out, lol.  I had to tell him we were planning a trip to Gatti Town later and if he wanted to go, he'd better hustle.  So that's what he did.  He hustled.  Not really toward the ball.  In fact, he avoided the ball for the most part.  But he ran.  Sometimes away from the ball and sometimes in circles around the teenage ref, but he ran.  ::shrugs::  What can you do?  It was funny.  When the game was over, he ran over to me {faster than he ran during the entire game} and told me, "He said it was over!  Can we go to the fun place now?".  Silly kid.

After a VERY long day, of soccer, then lunch, then shopping, then meeting the Binnings and Bridget and Kenzi at Gatti Town for a quick dinner and games, we capped it off with Carter's sibling class at Baylor Frisco, where Carter was born and where we'll have baby Durb.  Trenton also took this same class when I was pregnant with Carter.  So it was fun to do it again with C.

Carter was the only kid there.  The 2 others in this particular class cancelled, so Carter got 100% of the attention, which he loved.

They started out by making a craft.  It's a crib sign with big brother's picture for the baby when it's born.  Then the nurses {yes, 2 people were running the class for 1 kid, lol.  Love this hospital.  They are so great} took Carter on a tour of the Womens Health part of the hospital.  He got to see the nursery, Labor and Delivery, and the recovery rooms.  Funny side note, when we did the tour of Labor and Delivery, we went and saw the room Carter was born in.  Like, THE room.  He was so good and he just walked around listening and taking in everything.

After the tour, we went back to a room for snacks and a movie about being a super sibling.  Post movie, one of the nurses went over some basic baby things and what they're used for, including something for Carter to use to measure his toys to see if they were too small for baby and therefore choking hazards.  They ever went over swaddling a baby, which he did with a doll.  So cute.  When all was said and done, Carter got his Big Brother Certification!  He was so funny.  Instead of a high five, he fist bumped the nurse then "blew up" his hand.  Silly kid!  Or silly sibling, I guess.  He did great.  And he had fun.  All day.  It was a good day.  A busy, busy day.  But it was good.

Here's Trenton's picture after his class in 2008 of HIS sign {which I still have}

Okay, back to Carter in the kids section of the Women's Health waiting room.
