Green foot is HUNGRY!

Carter and Trenton are very different.  I know, people are different so naturally kids would be different.  But it's just funny how they surprise you.

For instance, Trenton would never help himself to anything in the kitchen.  If he wants something, he asks.  It's just how he is.

Carter, it seems, isn't that way.

Around 10:30 last night, he got out of bed claiming he needed to potty.  This happens every night, as he hates bedtime.  He's rarely tired.  And never tired enough to sleep.  In fact, he tells me frequently his sleep has "run out of batteries".  Meaning he can't do it, lol.  Another huge differece, Trenton goes to bed and is usually asleep within minutes.

Anyway, Carter has to walk by our room to go potty, so when he gets up, he lingers near our door until I ask him what he's doing, he says  "I need to go potty", I say, "hurry up", and he goes then heads back to bed.  It's practically a ritual.

However, last night, about 15 minutes went by and I noticed that Carter didn't come back from "going potty".  I sent Scott to go check his room and see if I'd just missed it.  I was reading and watching 30 Rock, so it was possible.

I saw Scott leave his room and head downstairs.

*Side note*
I found Carter downstairs the night before that, waiting for daddy to come home from his soccer game.  Scott left without giving Carter a hug and kiss goodnight, because Carter was being a toot and claiming not to want one.  Carter was upset that daddy left, so he was downstairs waiting for his hug and kiss.

Scott came back upstairs laughing with SOMEthing in his hands.  Carter was close behind him.  The object in Scott's hand?  A sandwich.  Carter watches his older brother make his lunch in the morning, so I guess he decided he could make his own sandwich, too.  He grabbed his trusty stool and fashioned his own midnightish snack.  2 pieces of bread and some jelly.  He couldn't get the peanut butter open.  He said the lid was too tight, lol.  So we laughed.  Because... that's funny.  He's 3, for goodness sake.  Almost 4, but still!

We let him eat his sandwich {and he did, every single bite} and gave him the whole speech about not going downstairs after bedtime.  Stay in bed yadda yadda.  Crazy kid!

OH!  And I forgot to mention, his foot was randomly green.  :/  What?  I think he got into the food coloring, too, spilled a drop or 2, then stepped in it.

Trenton would never do that.  Go help himself to whatever in the kitchen.  And he's 9.  I don't think it would even occur to him.  He asks.  Always.  And Carter seemed so unaware that it wasn't normal.  Hungry?  Make a sandwich!  I guess.  So different.

Of course, now we have to keep a close eye on his "potty breaks" so he doesn't tumble down the stairs in the dark.  :/  These boys and their personalities.  Sheesh!
