Spooky Ooky Swag

It's almost Halloween!!!  Ok, ok.  It's almost almost Halloween.  But, I love it.  To the point my husband thinks something's wrong with me.  But, what can I say, I enjoy the creepy, the shock value, the dancing on the line of weirdness and morbid fun.  It's only mid September, but Halloween decor has STARTED making an appearance in my home.  We aren't full throttle yet.  But it won't be long.  :D

Everything on that shelf cost $5.  Total.  I love the finger in the jar.  I got the finger from the Dollar tree (with it's 4 counterparts).  I used an empty bottle of Gripe Water.  I sprayed some fake blood in there and POOF!  Super creepy finger in a jar.  The purple pumpkin came from the dollar spot at Target.  The brain in a jar I've done for years.  In fact, it's been circulating pinterest for the last 2 years from my original blog (she said proudly.  Anyway, Dollar Tree plastic brain in a Dollar Tree mason jar.  Add some water and red food coloring.
I started my spider wall in the entry way with my tombstones running up the hall and into the kitchen.  I have to put up WAY more webbing and spiders, but Lurch, the giant jumping spider guarding his wrapped meal, is protecting the house at the moment.  Unless you step on his activation footpad.  Then he attacks.  The dog just LOVES that.
The mantle is simple.  I only have a side view for now.  Some jarred dollar tree organs (heart and brain pictured) skulls and black glitter pumpkins and birds.  Lots and lots of creepy black birds.  I'll take another picture when I'm done.
My half bath shelves are adorable, in my opinion.  Most of this also came from Dollar Tree.  Seriously, that place is AWESOME for fun decor you don't have to stress about.  I see the same things at Spirit for $6 that sell for $1 at Dollar Tree.  More jarred body parts (spleen, eyes, more fingers), Psycho Path sign, skull, spiders, rats, toilet cover with more spiders, holographic spooky picture, lemonade bottle with a "Zombie Virus" label (also from Dollar Tree).  The skull came from Target as did the BeWARE sign.  The lemonade bottle came from my fridge.  Everything else, Dollar Tree.
My favorite thing about my dining room right now is the haunted ghost face in the mirror behind the cloth.  Guess where I got everything except the severed head center piece.  That's right!  Dollar Tree.  Black roses and orange vases.  Skull place mats.  Ghost face window cling with a creepy netting thrown over it.
Now the head, I made myself.  I love it.  It's hard to see in my crappy iphone pictures, but I love her.  Styrofoam head from Sally's, garage sale wig for 50 cents and makeup.  I used a lighter to burn out some wounds, painted them black and red.  Then I added a creepy doll eye to the eye wound I'd created so it's always open and looking on one side.  :)

This grumpy guy live on my island table extension.   Skull, some Dollar Tree mossy stuff from the floral section, cake stand.  Done!
More to come!  I have to make my porch resident and my head hanging piece.  Happy almost almost Halloween!!!
