We've lived in our new house for over a month. It's slowly becoming ours. Furniture, rugs, pictures, paint... it's coming together and I love it. I really, really do.
The boys started school on Monday. Trenton is in a brand new Middle School. I can't believe he's as big as he is! He changes classes and has a locker... doesn't seem possible. He's riding the bus, too. Walks to and from the bus stop and all. I realize lots of kids do this, but this is a first for our family. It just seems so grown up. His first day went well, reportedly. Made a new friend and has someone to sit with at lunch (whew! I can't tell you how much I worried about that), meet another friend the 2nd day to sit with on the bus. In a few weeks, he'll have more friends than he knows what to do with. I know his misses his Plano friends. I wish I could fix all that for him. It's hard not to know anyone. But I have to keep telling myself he'll be fine.
Carter started Kindergarten!!! How can that little baby already be in school?! I don't know. But it's true. He was ready for it, too. He had ZERO nervousness. He was excited and bounced right into his seat when I walked him in. After I fussed over him and took his picture, he kissed me goodbye and never looked back. I was as proud as I was sad. I cried. It's just such a closing on their babyhood. It's good, but you have to mourn the lose of someone completely dependent on YOU. ::sigh::
Anyway, he loves school. I drop him off in the carpool line and he's out the door and talking to other kids before I can even wave.
So there we are. Brand new, fresh start. It's going to be a good year for everyone. I can tell. :D
